The project

The need for a diverse approach towards education is more necessary today than ever before. The transition from ‘learning to know’ to ‘learning to be, to do and live together’, is necessary for secondary students of the modern society.

This is the aim of the new program REIMAGINED - “Reimagining Social and Emotional Education in secondary schools through arts-integrated practices in the post Covid-19 era”, which aspires to re-imagine the education in secondary schools of Greece, Italy and Hungary, using art as a powerful tool.

In specific, the program will pursue to develop a practical educational paradigm, correlating Socio-Emotional Education (SEE) with arts education, promoting in this way creative thinking, and resilience of students.

Our goals

Equip

75 lower secondary schools’ educators and directors with the necessary competences, so that they will be in position to put into action the principles of Socio-Emotional Education among their students.

Enhance

the social and emotional skills of 180 adolescents aged 11-15 years old, equipping them with the necessary skills to think and act as active citizens of the 21st century, bringing along changes at a local level.

Contribute

to educational policy change, based on findings from research in secondary school level in Europe.

How we work

Through the creation of intervention frameworks for the development of a new educational approach. As well as, through workshops for students and artistic school projects at local level, that will combine cross and extra-curricular (outdoor) activities.

Art School of Athens

The thematic pillar that students based their projects on was biology and more specifically, they chose social phenomena and through allegory, they made a connection with the organs of the human body. They created two theatrical plays about the war of Gaza and the human body, as well as a dance performance through which they expressed their feelings.

Evangelical School of Smyrna

Students were asked to express their feelings through painting and music, based on this they created an art wall and they composed a song.

The students focused in the relationship between Art and History. They also analysed the fairytale of Snowhite in the current era.

Krudy school

The specific school focused with students in the relationship between Art and Science and enhanced their relationship with the creation of a puzzle and the composition of a song.
