ActionAid operates two vibrant community hubs in Greece — in Athens and Thessaloniki — offering free programs, services and activities that empower children, young people and adults to learn, create, connect and thrive.
Community Centre in Athens
Located in the heart of the city in Kolonos, the Athens Centre supports children, teenagers, and adults through innovative educational programs, skill-building workshops and psychosocial services.
• For children and teenagers: Creative arts, robotics, coding, theatre, language courses, and academic support help them discover their talents and prepare for the future.
• For adults: Career counseling, legal and financial advice, and psychosocial support empower individuals to find work, gain new skills, and strengthen their wellbeing.
Since opening, the Athens Centre has supported free of charge thousands of people, helping them overcome social and economic challenges while fostering inclusion, creativity, and resilience.

Youth Centre in Thessaloniki
In the city centre at Navarinou Square, the Thessaloniki Youth Centre is a welcoming space where young people gain skills, develop ideas and actively shape their communities.
• Opportunities for youth: Professional development, arts projects, volunteer initiatives and networking events connect young people with resources, mentors and peers.
• Our mission: Inform, empower, and mobilize youth to participate in the social, cultural and economic life of their city, tackling issues such as unemployment, inequality and climate change.
Since 2020, the Youth Centre has been a hub for hundreds of young people, inspiring them to dream, take action, and build a fairer, more inclusive society.
All services are provided free of charge, ensuring everyone has access to the tools and opportunities they need to grow and contribute to their community.
